Laser skin resurfacing involves using a laser to gently remove the surface layers of the skin, enabling new skin to form from the deeper skin cells lying in the hair follicles. The result? Fresher, healthier looking skin with fewer blemishes. We use the Cutera Pearl and Fotona TwinLight Fractional Resurfacing platforms for our laser skin resurfacing treatments.
The Cutera Pearl is designed to improve imperfections caused by sun damage and ageing on the face, including around the eyes and mouth. It can help with wrinkles, scarring, sun damage, poor skin texture, large pores and blemishes. During the treatment, the laser uses heat to create tiny holes deep in the skin, thereby stimulating the growth of healthy new skin. The best results are seen on patients with light-to-medium skin tones. We use a topical numbing cream to alleviate discomfort. After treatment, you may experience redness and swelling. Patients recover in about four to five days and most notice improvements within a week.
Recommended treatments: One or two, six weeks apart.
The Fotona TwinLight Fractional Erbium Resurfacing laser precisely targets imperfections in the skin. This laser allows us to combine ablative and non-ablative techniques to achieve optimal results. The deep heating effect of Fotona’s Nd:YAG laser beam helps rejuvenate and stimulate the skin, while the Er:YAG beam removes older, damaged skin and helps the body to form new, tighter skin.
Treatments can be tailored from light touch-ups to deep collagen remodelling. This treatment is ideal for patients who want dramatic rejuvenation effects, without surgery or aggressive chemicals. It’s a more intense treatment, and patients should expect peeling and redness for up to a week.
Recommended treatments: One to three treatments at least six weeks apart.
