At Southern Cosmetics, we’re planning to kick off 2019 with a bang and an exciting new chapter! After almost 7 years at Sandringham, we are opening a SECOND CLINIC on January 8. In this article, Dr Jenny provides an overview of what to expect.

1) Where will the new clinic be located?

The new clinic is sharing rooms with MP Skin Check, a skin cancer clinic on the Mornington Peninsula. The clinic was started by Dr Kristy Edwards who is a Mt Martha local and a previous colleague of Dr Nick and myself when we worked in Sunspot, a skin cancer clinic.

Dr Kristy saw a need in her patients having skin cancer checks for laser and other services to help them address sun damage concerns such as redness and pigmentation.

2) What services will be offered?

The service will differ slightly from Sandringham. We will be offering a full range of skin care, peels and microdermabrasion. There will be vascular laser, laser genesis, laser toning and pigment laser, as well as injectables – toxin and fillers.

For services such as laser resurfacing, Cooltech, Ultraformer and Secret RF, patients will be referred to Sandringham.

3) Who will be consulting at Mount Martha?

Our dermal therapist, Lisa, is returning from maternity leave in January, and to start with she will be consulting on Tuesdays. She will add a second day as demand grows. Lisa will also be offering cosmetic tattooing at the clinic, probably on a Saturday morning.

Our Cosmetic Nurse Specialist, Felicity, will be there on Thursdays providing skin treatments and injectables. Dr Kristy will also be overseeing the treatments.

4) Why have you decided to open a second clinic?

We were initially approached Dr Kristy to see if we were interested in offering laser services to her skin cancer clients, but we had been thinking of opening a second clinic anyway, as we are almost at full capacity at Sandringham.

5) How do you feel about the next chapter?

We have been throwing ideas around since mid-year and it has been a long process. However, things are finally coming together and we are very excited to be finally opening the clinic in January.

Our new clinic is located at:

Suite 1/4 Langrigg Ave

Mount Martha
