Non-Surgical Chin Fat Reduction

In fact, we were one of the first clinics in Australia to offer this treatment. Our non-surgical chin reductions involve injecting deoxycholic acid below the chin area to dissolve fat cells.

How do the Non-surgical Chin Reduction treatments work?

Deoxycholic Acid is found in the body in bile acids and breaks down the fat in our diet. Deoxycholic Acid is administered by a series of small injections into the area below the chin. Once injected, it destroys the fat cells and they never return! A small grid is placed on the area to determine the number of injections needed and we apply ice beforehand to numb the area.

Who is the treatment suitable for?

Most men and women can be treated with impressive results. If you have a pocket of fat under your chin which can be “pinched” between the fingers, it can usually be treated.

How does a treatment feel?

We use ice to numb the area to be treated, thereby helping to minimise any discomfort. After the injection, the area may feel temporarily warm. If you do experience pain after the treatment, please speak to us about the best pain relief solution.

When will you notice a change?

After the treatment, patients often experience temporary swelling. This may last anywhere from four to seven days. Some people also experience transient numbness and bruising in the treated area.

Results vary depending on the size of your submental fat (double chin) and how much loose skin is present. Typically, you’ll see an improvement in the contour of the jawline within four to six weeks.

How many sessions are usually required?

We usually recommend two to three treatments, with results visible six to eight weeks post-treatment.
