Hyperhidrosis

Hyperhidrosis is a medical condition in which a person sweat excessively and unpredictably. People with hyperhidrosis may sweat even when the temperature is cool or when they are at rest. In most cases, sweating is perfectly natural. People sweat more in warm temperatures, when they exercise, or in response to situations that make them nervous, angry, embarrassed, or afraid. Those with hyperhidrosis appear to have overactive sweat glands. The uncontrollable sweating can lead to significant discomfort, both physical and emotional. Treatments include anti-wrinkle injections, radiofrequency ablation, antiperspirants, medication, and in extreme cases, surgery.

How we can help

Anti-wrinkle injections

These can be used for the treatment of severe underarm sweating, a condition called primary axillary hyperhidrosis. Small doses are injected into the underarm and can reduce sweating for five to nine months at a time, with little or no side effects. Anti-wrinkle injections can also help sweating from other areas, such as the forehead, top lip, hands and feet.

Radiofrequency ablation

The Secret™ Micro-needle RF device can dramatically improve axillary hyperhidrosis.

Often only one treatment is required to provide long-lasting relief. The treatment is performed with topical local anaesthetic to minimise discomfort. After the treatment, there is some redness and swelling which settles in 24 to 48 hours.
